WAAS is Science Gallery's first off-site event, developed in partnership with Pfizer and endorsed by Science Foundation Ireland for Science Week. It explores the traits and characteristics we all have, which we utilise when we think scientifically.
Each of the traits (Curiosity, Clarity, Creativity, Discernment, Resilience, and Play) is examined through unique interactions, bringing the visitors on a journey from our personal human scale, down into the world of microbes and disease, and deeper further, into the biochemical realm of DNA and cellular machinery. The question we seek to ask isn't just, "what do we know? " but "how do we know it?" And only by encouraging our innately curious, playful and resilient nature can we arm ourselves for the march into the unknown. These interactions encourage our visitors to discuss these concepts in greater detail and allow them to recognise the same traits in themselves.
