Schrödinger at 75—The Future of Biology, a conference organised by Trinity College Dublin, marked the 75th anniversary of the famous ‘What is Life?’ lectures, given by Erwin Schrödinger at Trinity College Dublin in February 1943 when he was Director of the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies. Those lectures, and the book in which they are compiled, had an enormous influence on the development of the field of molecular biology in the 20th Century.
Schrödinger at 75 aspires to look into the future of various aspects of biology through the eyes of the distinguished contemporary speakers who have already made a significant impact on science and technology. Every one of us has a stake in finding out more about how we age, about the meaning of our consciousness, and indeed, about the origin of life.
